WHO I AM
I’m Tim Oder, an abstract artist and designer based in Tel Aviv.
My practice combines paper-based techniques, asemic writing, and geometric systems to explore the balance between chaos and order.
My background includes mathematics, engineering, and product design — a path that shaped how I understand structure, precision, and systems. These foundations continue to inform my visual language and way of working.
ODER × ReDo is my studio — a space where art, method, and experimentation meet.
WHY THIS WAY
My work explores the dialog between chaos and order — between control and spontaneity, structure and freedom.
It often begins with a blank surface — quiet, neutral, waiting to be shaped.
But this space is never truly empty. It holds tension and the weight of what could be. I call this the Paradox of the Blank Page — where everything is possible, yet nothing exists until the first move is made.
Through folding, asemic writing, and minimalist gestures, I create visual systems that move between disciplines — architecture and drawing, language and abstraction. Sometimes guided by structure, sometimes by chance — always by the rhythm that emerges between hand, material, and meaning.
This is the essence of the ReDo Method — not a technique, but a way of thinking. Built on reduction, repetition, and structural intuition. Each fold, each mark, each mistake becomes part of the final form.
To me, art is not about choosing between chaos or control.
It’s about learning how to move through both.
MEDIUMS & PROCESS
I work across multiple mediums: folding paper into sculptural forms, creating abstract prints with layered systems, and developing asemic writing as visual rhythm.
Some works are drawn by hand. Others are digital — but always made with intention and restraint.
Every series begins with a question. Every piece follows its own way.
THE REDO METHOD
The ReDo Method is a personal framework I developed to approach creative work with clarity and restraint. It’s not a fixed technique, but a mindset — rooted in minimal intervention, structural intuition, and the belief that emptiness is an active element.
The name comes from the act of re-doing — returning, reducing, refining. It reflects a cyclical process: building, breaking, simplifying, repeating.
Each fold, each line, each pause becomes part of a visual rhythm — guided not by decoration, but by intent.
Rather than forcing outcomes, the ReDo Method invites a conversation between material, motion, and perception. It leaves space for both structure and surprise.
